Sibonay Koo

Crinkled Memories

She sifts through her summer,
crinkled memories in scrawling print
of bright blue ink.
Spring cleaning:
“Throw that trash away!”

She sighs for her summer,
Remembers
Cookie dough and illicit strolls,
and midnight dew
on petals.

But she locks her summer away.
Sepia-toned smiles are all that remain
as she boxes it into
“Recycling” and “keepers”,
then shuts the lid.
